Slowly we are getting back into the right rhythm, even though there will be three award giving ceremonies for the Statements in High Fidelity this year: My colleague Wojciech Pacuła and I could hand out the German Edition as planned during the High End and for the Polish Edition a table is already reserved in a restaurant in Warsaw.
And it is for our guests Gabi and Edwin Rynveld and Morton Kim Nielsen. Wojciech Pacuła, obviously a big fan of Dutch noble cables, gave the award to Crystal Cable's Da Vinci series after testing the unbalanced interconnect, the speaker and the power cables. Here are just a few of his arguments for his choice: „The color of the interconnect is creamy and characterized by deep saturation. And yet, the highs here are strong, sonorous and have high energy. Most importantly, however, these are cables with incredible dynamics. They are also stunningly fast and precise. Besides, they have a slightly rounded creamy attack. It's a remarkable combination that makes the da Vinci by Crystal Cable both a "working tool" and an "instrument of delight". … Planes behind the line connecting the speakers are wonderfully built, thanks to which the stereophony is wide and quite deep. However, it's smooth stereophony, without focusing our attention on individual elements, but rather building a sort of a "background" for what's happening in the foreground.“
Morton Kim Nielsen is the marketing director of the Danish loudspeaker manufacturer Raidho. Among other things, he demonstrated the X1t at this year's High End, which made a lasting impression not only on Roland Dietl and me during a demonstration. Helmut Baumgartner, who even during his photo marathon on the first day of the fair always has an open ear for particularly good sounding things, suggested to Roland Dietl that he order the X1t for a test, which he rejected - but only because he had already ordered a pair for hifistatement.net directly after the demonstration. Later Roland Dietl wrote: „For me, the outstanding feature of the X1t is its exceptionally high intelligibility of human voices, which establishes a special bond with the listener. This commences with the fact that the X1t carves out the characteristic features of each individual voice with captivating clarity. … In addition to the excellent tonal qualities, the sound is completely detached from the speakers at any time and has a great spatial depth that goes far beyond what one would generally expect from such a small transducer. … Don't let the size fool you: The Raidho X1t is a true and superbly sounding high-end speaker. The rendering of human voices is simply stunning.“ If everything works out as planned, the Statements in High Fidelity | Polish Edition 2022 will be on display in the award winners' showrooms at the upcoming Audio Video Show in Warsaw as early as Friday.
Congratulations to the award winners!
