The vented two-way speaker system is designed just with the same rigor as its speaker stands. It all starts with the cabinet, which is manufactured of a special composite material with a very high density and consequently high damping, very much resembling concrete. The special construction is described by designer Daniel Oudes as a kind of sandwich structure. The 40-millimeter thick front panel is also extremely solid: it is cut and subsequently processed from a cast aluminum block. The aluminum alloy has got a very high percentage of magnesium. At this point, the aluminum cast manufacturing technology and the alloy itself are characterized by minimal residual stress and high internal damping. For a phase-coherent performance in the cut-off frequency range, the tweeter is slightly offset towards the mid-woofer and thus its radiated frequencies arrive at the listener with minimal delay. This delay is said to almost compensate for the slightly slower mechanical response of the mid-woofer’s heavier diaphragm.

BLOCKAUDIO uses only the very best drivers from the portfolio of the Israel based manufacturer Morel, albeit being custom-made especially for the Czech company. For the highs, a 28-millimeter soft dome tweeter with a hand-coated diaphragm is used, while the front of the cabinet features an integrated waveguide for the slightly recessed tweeter. The 160 millimeter Morel mid-woofer has got an extremely stiff composite sandwich diaphragm made of carbon fiber fabric and Rohacell rigid foam. It is noteworthy that the outside shows no screws for the attachment of the driver.
